Toenail Fungus Laser Treatment - Is it Worth?

Toenail fungus a very ugly fungi that affects almost 25 million persons around America. The toenail fungus causes the toenail to be very hard and thick and turn yellow. If you've a fungus infection and you are thinking about different treatments, there are a few things to consider.

There's no flawless fix for toenail fungus. There are some oral medicines for toenail infection, like Lamisil, and these are said to treat the infection about 10 percent of the time. A new recent treatment for this fungus is the use of lasers. So far there were a few studies that show very promising conclusions. These lasers work from killing the fungus but also leaving the nail and other foot tissues un-damaged. Many big companies are looking to get in on the action.

Laser

How exactly do the lasers work? These lasers are aimed at the fungus in the toenail that basically vaporizes it while leaving your skin unharmed.

Toenail Fungus Laser Treatment - Is it Worth?

Does it work? Around first clinic studies earlier this year, almost 90 percent of the patients were able to grow out a regular appearing nail after just one laser treatment. After that treatment, the toenail should grow usually in one year if there's a healthy bed to do so. The success rate here is similar to the oral fungal pill.

Is the laser treatment Agonizing? Is it Safe? The laser has absolutely no affect on regular and healthy skin tissue, there's no pain. The studies taken so far show absolutely no side effects from taking the laser treatment to get rid of the fungus.

How long will it take? Only ten minutes are needed for treatment, per toe.

So... how safe is it? There are absolutely no health or age restrictions. In recent clinical studies there were no bad reactions, harm, ailments or side effects. As you might know, the ability to use the medication accessible today for treatment carries with it the possibility of kidney failure, lasers don't.

Will my insurance cover it? The laser treatment of for toenail fungus isn't covered by most insurance companies or plans as it's thought of as aesthetic. The cost can be anywhere from 0 to 0.

It's credited to your operation fee if you want to go forward with treatment. The treatment is usually a fee of . If your infection is resistant or if it is not responding to regular toenail growth, the nails might need the next laser treatment therapy. This sometimes happens when all of your toenails are extremely infected. You may need additional treatments in this case.

If the toenail lasers, which did recently finish small clinical trials really work, they will show a recent way to cure toenail infections by killing the fungi while keeping the toe whole and healthy.

Currently, there's no sure fix. The fungus are so smart that popular fungus pills, which move the risk of liver cause injury to, are totally successful under 50 percent of the time. And medications that you physically put on your toes work less than 10 percent of the time.

Drug companies like Schering-Plough are working on recent pills and ointments and lotions to fight the toenail fungus.

Tumescent Laser Liposuction - Less Pain, Quicker Recovery

Most people, no matter how fit and healthy, have areas of extra fat on the body that they do not like. In men it is the waist area, and in women the tummy, hips and thighs. Many of us have often thought that it would be nice to have liposuction to remove the excess fat and start over again by watching our diet and exercising. However traditional old time liposuction is a traumatic surgical procedure which is painful and with a prolonged recovery. Worse, a large percentage of people who have old time liposuction end up with lumps bumps, divots and irregularities on the skin after liposuction.

I have been using tumescent laser liposuction with the new SlimLipo laser lipo technique for almost a year now and I am amazed at how much better the tumescent laser liposuction technique is than the old time non-laser liposuction method. My patients have smooth tight skin after laser liposuction, and their recovery after laser lipo is much easier and less painful.

Laser

The benefit of the new tumescent laser liposuction technique is that the laser melts the fat before it is removed, making fat removal much easier with laser lipo. The tumescent technique minimizes bleeding and discomfort. The laser also tightens the skin as the fat is melted. The result is more uniform fat removal, smooth skin, less bleeding and less pain after tumescent laser liposuction.

Tumescent Laser Liposuction - Less Pain, Quicker Recovery

What Is Tumescent Laser Liposuction?

Tumescent laser liposuction is a new liposuction method that combines the use of tumescent solution with laser melting of fat before fat removal. Tumescent solution is a liquid that contains an anesthetic or numbing solution and a vasoconstrictor, a medication that helps control bleeding. The tumescent solution is injected beneath the skin, into the fat to be removed, before the laser liposuction or laser lipo is started.

The tumescent solution numbs the skin area for pain control which can last up to 24 hours. The solution also prevents bleeding which reduces post laser liposuction bruising and swelling, which speeds recovery.

The tumescent solution is injected under pressure, which swells or distends the fat and makes removal easier. The distention and hydration (adding water to) of the fat also improves the effectiveness and safety of the laser treatment to dissolve the fat.

The benefits of the tumescent laser liposuction technique are

  • Excellent pain control
  • Less bleeding and bruising
  • More effective fat removal
  • Less risk of skin irregularities after liposuction

How Is the Tumescent Laser Liposuction Treatment Done?

Tumescent laser liposuction may be done with you awake or asleep. Many areas can be treated with you awake using only the local anesthesia provided by the tumescent solution. However, the benefits of tumescence are so important that tumescent solution is also used when laser liposuction is done under general anesthesia, for control of bleeding, improved fat removal and for post operative pain management.

After your skin has been cleansed with a sterile anti-bacterial soap, the skin area to be liposuctioned is sterilely draped to prevent contamination. Tiny punctures are made in hidden areas of the skin, and a small needle inserted beneath the skin into the fat to be removed. The tumescent solution is then injected into the fat under pressure to swell the fat and deliver the anesthetic and vasoconstrictor (prevents bleeding) solution.

After a brief waiting period until your skin is numb and the tumescent fluid has taken effect, the laser fiber is inserted through the same puncture sites and the fat is melted with the laser. The fat is liquefied into a thin liquid which is much easier to remove than fat that is removed with traditional old time liposuction.

After the fat has been liquefied, a small tube called a cannula is inserted and the liquid fat removed by suction. Because the fat has been liquefied, much smaller cannulas can be used than with traditional non-laser liposuction. This fact results in a less traumatic procedure with tiny hidden scars, very different from old time liposuction.

The laser also tightens the skin as the fat is lased. The laser heats the fibers that attach your skin to your body, and causes these fibers to shorten which pulls the skin closer to the body. Microscopic studies have shown that many more fibers, called connective tissue, are left after laser liposuction than after non-laser liposuction. I believe that this fact helps explain the improved skin tightening and smooth skin after laser liposuction.

How Will I Feel After Surgery?

Because the new technique places numbing solution in the liposuction area, you will have very little discomfort immediately after and up to 12 hours after your procedure. In addition you will be given strong pain killers to manage any discomfort.

The second day you will feel discomfort in the treated areas, however in my experience, the level of discomfort is certainly much less than that experienced with traditional non-laser surgery. By day 3 most patients are very comfortable.

You will be wearing a supportive compression garment on the treated areas which adds additional support and comfort.

You will be up and around, able to eat, walk, use the bathroom and do normal daily activities the day after your procedure. I recommend that you not go to the gym or do vigorous physical activity for the first week to ten days because I want the healing process to be undisturbed during this time.

How Long Is the Recovery?

You will be active and walking from day one. However I will limit your vigorous exercise and weight lifting or aerobics for ten days.

Your garment will be changed to a light Spanks type garment after three to five days. If small sutures are used to close the small puncture sites they will be removed at day five.

When small areas like the chin or a minor tummy procedure are done, some people return to work the next day. I do not recommend returning to work the same day-I want you to be quiet and rest the first day.

Recovery to a more normal skin appearance can take ten days to two weeks for swelling and bruising, if any, to resolve.

Your skin appearance, skin tightening and result will continue to improve for three to six months as the skin gradually tightens over the areas where fat has been removed. The remarkable thing about the this new technique technique is that the skin is much smoother than after traditional old time suction lipectomy. I believe that the laser dissolving of the fat prior to removal results in a more uniform fat removal.

Which Laser is best?

I use the SlimLipo Aspire system made by Palomar Medical. I have chosen this laser because the SlimLipo uses the only laser wavelength which is specifically absorbed by fat. The SlimLipo uses a 924nm (nm=nanometers, one millionth of a meter and describes the wavelength of the laser color in the visible light spectrum, which for 924nm is yellow, the color of fat) laser wavelength.

The 924nm laser wavelength used in SlimLipo dissolves or releases three to five times as much fat during lasing as do the other commonly used wavelengths. The other wavelengths used by different machines target water, not fat, and are less efficient and less specific at fat dissolving.

The 924nm SlimLipo also works very well in hydrated fat, meaning that fat dissolving with the laser works very well after the tumescent fluid has been injected.

How Do I Find a Surgeon?

I am a board certified plastic surgeon, thus I am very prejudiced that you should have your procedure performed by a board certified plastic surgeon. My view is that if you are going to have surgery of any kind, you want a board certified surgeon who has been fully trained and is expert at taking care of a surgical patient. You want the safety of knowing that if something goes wrong, your doctor will have the skill, experience and training to take care of you.

Many dermatologists do liposuction. If you wish to have a dermatologist do your procedure, I recommend that you make certain that your dermatologist is board certified and has had a fellowship in dermatologic surgery.

I recommend that you visit the following sites to learn more about liposuction surgery and how to check out your doctors training, experience and board certification status:

American Board of Plastic Surgery

American Society of Plastic Surgeons

American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons

What Questions Should I Ask the Doctor?

Do not be intimidated by the white coat and afraid to ask the doctor important questions. You are an educated consumer, and a good doctor will welcome the fact that you are prepared and have done your reading. I prefer to have informed patients, they always do better after surgery. Plastic surgery is no place for snap decisions or impulse buying.

In my book Save Your Face, in Chapter ten, I give details on how to choose your doctor and what questions to ask. A brief summary of important questions are:

o Are you certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery?

o How often do you do this procedure?

o Do you think I am a good candidate for this procedure?

o Are you comfortable operating on me with my particular goals?

o Do you anticipate a good result-why?

o Can you show me before and after picture of patients that you have operated on?

o Can I speak to a patient who has had this surgery by you?

o What are the arrangements for an emergency during nights and weekends-are you available?

o Will my procedure be done in an approved operating room or outpatient facility under standard sterile and safety precautions? Are emergency services and monitoring available if needed?

Most importantly, trust your gut feelings during your visit with the doctor. Is the office clean and professional? Do the doctor and staff treat you in a respectful manner? Ask yourself will I be comfortable calling these people and depending on them if I have an emergency at night or on weekends? Will I be comfortable expressing my concerns or disappointment if I feel that way? If you detect any discomfort or uncertainty, you should consult another doctor.

This new laser procedure is a remarkable, revolutionary advance in liposuction and fat removal techniques. The benefits can be very significant. However, the results of liposuction, like any surgical procedure are very dependent upon the skill and expertise of your surgeon. Choose wisely and I expect that you will have a very happy result.

Risks of Laser Teeth Whitening - Laser Teeth Whitening Review

Teeth whitening, a relatively non-existent procedure twenty years ago has come on in leaps and bounds ever since the materialistic attitude adopted during the last few years of the twentieth century.

At this time teeth whitening procedures were only limited to actors and newsreaders who needed to look good when on television or the big screen. At that time prices were astronomical for such treatments, but as is the way of all new techniques and concepts, time will inevitably push the price down as it becomes more common place. But teeth whitening seems to be a kind of exception.

Laser

While it is true that more people of the general population seek to have their teeth whitened, they are all under the illusion that only dentists can carry out the procedure. Home whitening kits, created by moral dentists, are now being the fashion amongst those that intelligently search for more time efficient and less costly procedures, not to mention more safe methods of whitening whilst protecting the tooth.

Risks of Laser Teeth Whitening - Laser Teeth Whitening Review

Laser teeth whitening is one of the most expensive operations offered by dental surgeons for super quick results. Usually a concentration of either carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide solution is applied to the teeth. The bleaching solution is controlled by a laser that quickens the tooth whitening process. The entire process in most cases lasts for up to two hours and the results are noticeable immediately.

Unfortunately while the results are indeed immediate, the side effects and consequences of laser teeth whitening do not make for such easy whitening. Over 18% of patients report gum tissue problems, such as bleeding and infestation while a staggering 39% conceded that teeth sensitivity had increased dramatically. Furthermore, the whitened teeth have to be cared for regularly if whiteness is to be maintained, where certain drinks and foods may not be consumed.

Fractional CO2 Laser Recovery: What to Expect

The fractional CO2 laser offers many great benefits: it utilizes the gold standard CO2 laser for skin resurfacing and treats the effects of sun damage, facial skin aging, brown spots, skin discoloration and acne scarring. It can provide skin tightening, even out skin tone and color, remove fine lines and wrinkles, and reduce the size of large pores. One of the best things about the fractional CO2 laser: the downtime following the procedure is a fraction of that of the traditional CO2 laser.

Why is this? The traditional CO2 laser resurfaces 100 percent of the skin to which it's applied, requires a 2-week healing time, and can cause up to three months of significant redness. With modern computer technology, fractional laser procedures treat only a fraction of the skin. Because bridges of healthy and intact skin remain in between the treated areas, the downtime is significantly less. The peeling portion of recovery is usually complete in around five days.

Laser

What can fractional CO2 laser patients expect as far as recovery? Patients can go home immediately after the procedure, and they receive specific instructions about how to take care of their skin. Many patients claim that they incur a sunburn-type feeling for about two hours after the procedure is completed. However, once this goes away, there is generally no pain.

Fractional CO2 Laser Recovery: What to Expect

Over the three to five days following the procedure, the skin will gently peel by flaking off. During this time, patients keep the skin moist with a Vaseline type ointment. This allows for the best possible healing. After the skin has peeled, patients can use makeup to cover any redness. Your physician will give you clearance to do this when the time is right.

Patients should avoid strenuous exercise, and bending, stooping, lifting heavy objects, or straining for at leas three days after procedure. They should sleep with their face elevated above their heart for the first day after the procedure.

Immediately after the initial five-day healing phase is complete, patients see a gradual improvement in the skin. This is because the laser stimulates collagen production in the deep skin layer; helping to fill in the fine lines of the face. The collagen buildup can take up to six months to complete.

Sun exposure should be avoided and sun protection worn at all times after laser skin resurfacing. Discuss this with you doctor as the amount of time will vary based upon how you heal an the type of treatment you had.

Only one treatment is necessary for most patients, and the final results are permanent.

Because each patient desires different results and everyone has different skin types, it's very important to work with a physician who is highly experienced in fractional CO2 laser procedures. It's essential that the physician be experienced with using very precise movements when sequentially applying the laser to the skin of the face, neck, and/or chest. Always listen to your physicians instructions after the laser as it will vary based upon the type of laser, type of treatment, your healing, your skin, and the doctor's preference.

Titan Laser Procedure

Laser Information- The Titan

The procedure that many are calling an effective alternative to a face lift is known as the Titan Procedure. The Titan like is one of a new breed of skin lasers that offer patients skin treatments marked by minimal if any pain or discomfort. The laser works by stimulating the collagen that lies below the surface of skin. When the skin ages collagen fibers will stretch resulting in sagging skin. The Titan Laser heats the collagen layer which results in it contracting and thickening. Additionally it causes the formation of minute injuries in the dermal layer of the skin. These "injuries" result in the production of collagen to occur.

Laser

The procedure can be utilized on a variety of areas including the face, neck and body. The most frequent areas receiving Titan Laser treatment is the facial area. In the facial area the forehead, neck, cheeks and jowl are the most popular areas for treatment. In addition other regions such as the stomach, thighs, and arms can also be effectively treated. The procedure is especially effective at treating the more difficult regions of the body such as the knee and elbows regions.

Titan Laser Procedure

Length and details of the Titan procedure

Procedure sessions can last from a minimum of 10 minutes to over one hour, based on your doctor's treatment approach. A numbing cream is applied to the patients treatment areas, but there is little in the way of pain during the procedure. The sensation during the procedure can best be described as a pulse of heat which continually cycles throughout the treatment.

Risks and/or complications related to the Titan procedure

Individuals receiving treatment indicate the procedure is almost free of pain. There are few if any side effects associated with treatment via the Titan Laser. Patients may experience slight redness that usually will fade after an hour. Any swelling that occurs should subside within a day. Individuals that receive treatment via the Titan Laser may immediately return to work.

What makes the Titan procedure popular is its minimal impact. The procedure is not surgical, but often rivals results from traditional forms of facial surgery. Furthermore the skin surface is not damaged as the procedure does not extend below the dermis region.

Long-term results of the procedure

Since the laser works by stimulating the formation of new collagen, ideal results will take approximately three to eight months to materialize. While this laser procedure is very effective it does have limitations. Individuals with advanced skin aging coupled with sun damage and excessive wrinkles may not be the best candidates for the Titan laser procedure.

How much does this procedure cost?

A Titan Laser procedure can cost between 00 to 00.

Will my insurance cover a Titan procedure?

Because a Titan procedure is considered an elective procedure, insurance usually will not cover the operation.

Laser Skin Whitening Costs and Advantages

The people can now enhance their image intelligently, safely and affordably by removing acne scars from the face and body through customized clinically proven techniques in a number of ways that are available nowadays to lighten the skin tone. A lot of treatments run parallel in this regard like creams, pills, lotions and lasers. The point is that out of all these treatments which one should be preferred to get the best desired results.

Laser skin whitening shows the fastest results out of all the treatments present in the market. They function by emitting high intensity energy sources which get absorbed by melanin that are responsible for the skin colour and are present in the pores under the skin. Due to this absorption the dark parts of the skin cells that cause high melanin get destroyed. The laser treatments mainly use natural skin lighteners like kojic acid and licorice extract that lighten the darker skin by breaking down the melanin pigments that are present in the dermis.

Laser

These treatments are done by qualified doctors or specialists who are trained medical professionals, only after they confirm the spot tests to be okay. The laser skin whitening treatment generally requires three sittings at a gap of two months for getting the desired results of skin lightening and to get rid of the undesired skin pigments.

Laser Skin Whitening Costs and Advantages

The factors to look for before getting the laser skin treatments done up are like the initial condition of the skin, what kind of laser to use, the depth of the pigment that is being cured or needs lightening, skill level of the medical practitioner and the number of treatments already taken, all these are important, as the treatment modifications depend highly on these factors.
The budgeting for a laser treatment is also important as comparatively it is a more expensive though a less time consuming method which gives positive results within no time.

The laser skin treatments also help in the cases of skin ochronosis which turns the skin into blue-black or gray-blue tones due to excessive use of skin creams containing hydroquinone generally seen in people having medium - dark skin tones. Freckles which are found mostly in Asian skin types are also cured by the use of lasers.

The effort, time and money that goes into the treatment of skin tone lightening by the process of Laser Skin Whitening is worth putting as it enhances the skin complexion and thus improving the personalities of people and making them more confident.

The cost per laser treatment could vary between 0-00 depending on the size and color of the tattoo, meaning that attaining satisfactory tattoo removal cost range between 0 and 00.

Laser Liposuction - Not All Machines Are Equal For Laser Liposculpture and Body Contouring

You are very lucky if you have waited until now to consider having liposuction, or liposculpture body contouring. The new laser liposuction techniques are a vast improvement over traditional methods. The new laser technology melts fat and tightens skin resulting in a much gentler liposculpture procedure and minimal loose hanging skin after liposuction.

Whether you have a double chin, tummy fat after childbirth, saddle bags, spare tire, or just little problem areas around the hips or thighs, the new laser assisted liposculpture and laser body contouring techniques may be what you are looking for.

Laser

Not all of the machines in use are the same. Some laser wavelengths, such as the 924nm and 924/975nm work much better than others. You need to understand which technology is best if you are considering laser liposuction.

Laser Liposuction - Not All Machines Are Equal For Laser Liposculpture and Body Contouring

Liposuction is the most commonly performed plastic surgery operation.

Problems Associated with Traditional Liposuction
-Traditional liposuction is done by inserting a metal tube called a cannula beneath the skin into fat containing areas of the body. High pressure suction is applied and fat is suctioned out from under the skin. While the procedure works well, it is traumatic as the suction pulls out not only fat but also some of the connective tissue which holds the skin tight to the body. There are several problems which can occur after liposuction:

o Loose Skin After Liposuction
o Contour Deformities-Skin Irregularities
o Prolonged Bruising
o Difficult and Painful Recovery

How Laser Liposuction Works-During laser assisted liposuction, a very small laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin. Heat from the laser melts the fat into a thin liquid. The liquid fat is then more easily removed with very small cannulas usually only2-3 millimeters in diameter. The heat from the laser also tightens the skin, and closes many blood vessels, thus less bleeding.

Advantages of Laser Liposuction

o Skin Tightening!!!!!!!
o Liquefaction of Fat = Fewer Contour Deformities
o Uniform Skin Appearance after Liposuction
o Smaller Cannulae = Tiny Incision
o Much Less Traumatic
o Can Contour Visible Areas in Thinner Patients
o Excellent for Touch Ups after standard Liposuction

Which Laser is best for Liposuction?

There are several different machines available using several different laser wavelengths-the 924nm, combined 924/975nm, the 1064nm, and the 1308nm are the most popular.

I prefer the 924nm and combination 924/975nm laser because the 924nm is very selectively absorbed by fat tissue. The 924nm liquefies 3 times as much fat as some of the other wavelengths and is also more strongly absorbed by blood vessels, which helps reduce bleeding and bruising.

Are You A Candidate for Laser Liposuction?

If you are healthy, do not smoke, and have extra fat beneath your chin, around your tummy, on your hips, thighs, arms or knees, and are relatively fit and not obese, then you are likely an excellent candidate for laser liposuction. The younger you are the better your skin tightening will be after laser liposuction. I have, however, seen good skin tightening after laser liposuction in a 70 year old person.

If you are obese and significantly over weight, you should lose weight first before liposuction.

If you are considering laser liposuction you really need to know the facts and understand the technology. Once you do the advantages of the new 924nm and 924/975nm based laser liposuction technology are obvious-there is nothing else like it on the market.

Liquid Face Lift - The Remarkable, Non-Surgical, Minimal Down Time Facelift

Do you look in the mirror and see your mother or father looking back at you?
We all inherit our facial features and we all at some point begin to age and our face reminds us of one or both of our aging parents. That's OK, but not when we are in our late thirties or early forties. We all want to stay young looking but most of us do not want to go through a face lift.

The exciting new liquid face lift using FDA approved soft tissue fillers has enabled us to actually plump specific areas of the face that have lost fat and sagged. These new filler techniques actually allow us to lift the cheek and drooping areas around the mouth.

\"face Lift\"

Why Our Faces Begin to Look Older
We talk to so many people every day about some type of facial rejuvenation. Most men and women feel that their faces look aged because they are sagging and worry that they need to be nipped and tucked to look younger. These patients look in the mirror see a need for a facelift and a facelift only. In fact, there are many things that contribute to an aging face: lines, wrinkles, discoloration and sagging skin. The one factor that most people don't consider is loss of fullness.

Liquid Face Lift - The Remarkable, Non-Surgical, Minimal Down Time Facelift

A youthful face is plump with full rounded cheeks. The cruelness of aging is that people lose fat in their faces and gain it elsewhere. Sadly fat in a face contributes to filling out the skin and keeping a face looking smooth and supple while fat tends to do the opposite in other areas of the body.

We can't blame all aging on a loss of fat. At 25, we stop producing collagen. Collagen plays a major role in the strength of skin and its decreased production leads to sagging. In addition, loss of muscle occurs with age and affects the facial contour.

Why Have a Facelift?
If loss of fullness is a significant reason for our aging, why do people need and get facelifts? Why not just add fullness to achieve a youthful look again?
The complex answer is that some people need volume, some need surgery and some need both. A properly done face lift in the appropriately selected patient can produce an excellent result.

The Liquid Face Lift
Rarely are people excited to have surgery, so many people that come to see us ask about other options or things to do in the present time to possibly delay the eventual need for a surgical procedure. The internet and media have discussed and promoted the liquid face lift and many patients ask about it.

This lift is a lifting, plumping, filling, smoothing and re-contouring of the face with a combination of various injectable dermal fillers and neurotoxins.
The injectable dermal fillers that we use in our office for facial re-contouring are hydroxyl apatite (Radiesse(TM) and hyaluronic acid (Juvederm(TM), Restalyn(TM) and now Perlane(TM)). Most people know these products when used to treat nasal labial folds (the lines connecting your nose to your face) or to plump the lips.

These soft tissue fillers can also be used to increase fullness in other areas of the face and this is what the liquid face lift achieves.

The mid cheek area can be plumped or augmented with fillers and this new volume significantly enhances a youthful face. In fact, cheeks with more volume typically have less dramatic nasal labial fold lines. A third area treated in this lift is the pre-jowl sulcus. These are the vertical lines that are on either side of the mouth. They connect the edges of the mouth to the jaw. These are also known as Marionette lines.

To achieve these results, often a few different fillers are used in each procedure. Each filler listed above has its own specific characteristics. They are made in different ways and are intended to be used for different situations. The use of fillers for facial augmentation is very patient specific and surgeon specific.

Botox(TM) Also Helps Enhance the Liquid Face Lift
The use of botulinum toxin (Botox(TM)) in addition to injectable dermal fillers can make for better, longer-lasting results. Botox(TM) blocks the nerve impulses that cause muscle contractions. These repeated muscle contractions can contribute to the breakdown of the soft tissue filler. With less muscle contraction after Botox TM the filler used for your liquid face lift should last longer.

No, Botox(TM) does not make you look like a figure in the wax museum! You look like yourself after Botox(TM), just you without frown lines, worry lines, crows feet bunny lines, and lip lines. Botox(TM) has been safely used in young children with spastic muscle problems since 1978 and is widely used around the world.

How Long Does It Take to Have A Liquid Face Lift?
Facial recontouring as described above can be accomplished in an office visit. A combination of nerve blocks and local anesthetics makes for the treatment to be very easily tolerated. What must happen first though is a thorough consultation with a plastic surgeon. In our office, we perform a lengthy review of your past medical history, allergies, previous facial treatments and ultimately your facial concerns and goals. The whole visit including treatment may take 45 minutes to an hour.

How Will I Look Right After?
You will see the early results immediately-we hand you a mirror and let you see. The results will improve over the next 3-6 weeks as the filler absorbs fluids and the body starts making new collagen in response to the filler.

Usually there is minimal or no bruising. The area may be slightly swollen and pink from the injection, but ice packs take care of this. With makeup you should be fine right after treatment or certainly the next day.

Who Is the Best Candidate for the Liquid Face Lift?
Ideal candidates are realistic men and women who are beginning to notice gaunt, sunken features and suffering from loss of tissue volume causing wrinkles, lines, and folds. These patients should have good skin texture and elasticity, be in good physical and psychological health and non smoking. Most patients are in their mid to late thirties up to patients in their fifties and sixties. Age does not matter, what matters is whether you have lost facial volume and want to plump your face to a more youthful appearance.

Is a Laser Face Lift Advisable?

You may have already heard or read about the latest breakthrough in the world of face lifting - laser face lift procedures. Many people are now saying that this is a better option for all those who seek to improve and rejuvenate the appearance of their face. If you're interested in this new face lift procedure then read on to see if this is an advisable option for you.

A laser face lift procedure is a non-invasive alternative to traditional face lift surgery. As the name implies, it uses laser technology to enhance the appearance of your face. It is believed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine facial lines by resurfacing the outer layers of your facial skin. You can opt to have the procedure done on your entire face or just on a few particular areas such as around the eyes.

\"Laser Face Lift\"

The laser technique has a lot of similarities with other popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures like skin peeling and dermabrasion. Those who promote the procedure claim that its biggest benefit is the fact that laser technology makes it very easy to control the depth of treatment, in direct contrast to other face lift procedures and techniques. It is also said to deliver better aesthetic results because the technique firms up the collagen matrix directly below the surface of your skin.

Is a Laser Face Lift Advisable?

But of course, even the most beautiful of roses has its thorns. Such is the case with laser face lift as well. No matter how well it is spoken of by some people, there can be no argument that the procedure does involve considerable risk and potential complications. While minor discomfort during the first week or two after the treatment can be considered normal, the significant possibility of having permanent changes in the pigmentation of your skin is something you should be wary of.

Not only that, the procedure also involves a considerable expense, quite a bit of recovery and healing time, and a significant amount of pain. To illustrate, you may experience what is referred to as weeping sensitive skin for about ten days after the face lift. After the torturous ten days, your skin will start changing color from red to pink to a lighter shade. The bad news is that the treated area often remains lighter in color than the area surrounding it, so if you already have dark complexion to begin with, the result can be quite unattractive indeed.

You can also count on the possibility of infection and anaesthetic risks to ruin your plans of looking and feeling more attractive.

Non-invasive procedures are also known to cause negative after-effects like swelling, especially if you're not very careful about avoiding the sun for at least six months after the treatment. As if this is not enough, there are even reports of unsatisfactory results from these procedures. So not only are you risking your skin with this technology, but you may also be wasting your money as well. Not a very attractive option when you come to think of it, right?

Deep Plane Facelift: Advanced Facelift to Restore a Youthful Look to the Face and Neck

One of the most advanced facelifts available today is the deep plane facelift, which restores the jowls, neck, and mid-face to their youthful positions. What makes the deep plane different from other facelifts? It releases lax facial ligaments and repositions sagging facial tissues, as opposed to tightening muscle layers, which can result in an ultra-taut, windblown look. The result of a deep plane facelift is a youthful, natural shape and appearance of the face.

With age, the face loses its fullness and volume, creating a sunken look. The underlying bone becomes more prominent, skin and cheeks sag, and lines form.

\"face Lift\"

More specifically, jowls form when the facial ligaments become lax. They give the face a more elongated and square appearance, a sign of age. Also, many people experience the "turkey gobbler neck" when neck tissues sag. Another feature of an aging face is that the cheek fat pads fall. This can happen as early as one's 30s. This leads to the formation of smile lines, changes the shape of the face to look older, and makes the lower eyelids appear longer and more fatigued.

Deep Plane Facelift: Advanced Facelift to Restore a Youthful Look to the Face and Neck

The goal of the deep plane facelift is to help fix these issues, while restoring a natural, youthful appearance as opposed to making the patient look completely different.

During the procedure, the jowls are repositioned at their point of formation (rather than tightening the muscle layer close to the ear as in many facelifts), allowing for a smoother appearing, more natural jaw line.

The procedure also restores sagging neck tissues to their more youthful location. Since everyone ages differently, the technique is altered based on how lax the neck tissues are.

Additionally, the deep plane facelift places the cheek fat pads, which tend to fall with age, into a more youthful position, and elevates the mid-face. Improvement in this mid-face region is a great benefit of the deep plane facelift over any other facelift technique.

Other plastic surgery procedures can be combined with a deep plane facelift.

The procedure takes between two to four hours, and can be performed in an outpatient surgical facility or at the hospital. Deep sedation/twilight sleep is preferred; however, some patients choose a general anesthetic. Most patients go home comfortably the same day and are care for by family or friends. Recovery takes one to three weeks. Some patients can return to work as early as one week after the procedure; however, strenuous physical activity should be avoided for two weeks following the surgery.

Some bruising may occur after surgery, but can be camouflaged with makeup, and usually resolves after two weeks. Most patients do not have any pain immediately after the procedure, but experience a feeling of tightness, which can be alleviated with pain relievers.

It is of the utmost importance that all patients considering any type of plastic surgery procedure consult a highly qualified and experienced facelift surgeon.

Face Lift, Brow Lift, Eyelid Lift - What's the Difference?

There are a few options available for you if you believe you need a cosmetic procedure to help you look a little younger. Those with wrinkles or fatty deposits on their faces may consider a few different procedures to help fight the aging process.

Keep in mind, however, that these procedures are not designed to change the essential look of your face, just to make the targeted area look younger and smoother.

\"face Lift\"

Face Lift

Face Lift, Brow Lift, Eyelid Lift - What's the Difference?

One of the most well known of all cosmetic procedures is the face lift.

A face lift addresses an all-over approach to wrinkles and sagging. Most important to any patient considering a this procedure is for the patient to understand that it will not change the features of the face. Rather, it is an approach to help the face appear younger and smoother, but will not change facial features.

A face lift involves making tiny incisions adjacent to the hairline, and then the skin is pulled away from the face. The skin is then manipulated and pulled back to reveal a smoother, more youthful appearance.

The procedure generally takes between two to four hours.

Brow Lift

Those seeking a procedure that is not for the entire face may investigate a browlift, which is also known as a forehead lift.

Again, the facial features will not essentially be changed. Rather, the result should be a more youthful appearance and smoother skin.

The brow lift is less invasive than a facelift, and is generally for younger patients, ages 40-60, who have significant creases around or above the brow area due to genetics or age. The procedure involves the skin above the eyebrow being lifted away from the forehead, removing excess fat and pulling the skin more taut to yield a smoother forehead and brow area.

Generally, an eyelid lift is performed in conjunction with the brow lift. The surgery time for this procedure is between two to three hours.

Eyelid Lift

The procedure often done in conjunction with either of the other procedures is the eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty.

This procedure can enhance the facial features and improve the patient's aesthetics. The purpose of the procedure is to reduce puffiness in the area.

Again for those who do not require a full facelift, this procedure lasts about one to two hours, and ideal candidates will have thick eyelids that hang down or look puffy above or below the eye. Candidates may also have part of their view obstructed due to the eyebrow's droop. Aesthetically, the patient may look more tired or older than they are.

Blepharoplasty begins with small incisions made at the existing creases under the eyelids. Fat is then removed, as is excess tissue. The incisions are then closed, revealing a more refreshed, youthful look.

Remember that any cosmetic procedure should only be performed by a certified plastic surgeon. Please review with your physician the risks involved with cosmetic surgery and any post-operative considerations that will need to be made.

Face Lift Creams

Make ups may soon become a thing of the past now that a new, more powerful facial product promises younger looking skin - face lift creams. The market is filled with a wide variety of 'age-reducing' creams, all promising to turn back the hands of time. Not all of them are the same, and finding the one that is best for you can get quite daunting.p>

Things to look for in face lift creams

Moisturizing properties. Skin looks old primarily because it lacks moisture. Find a face-lift cream that not only peels your skin to reveal new skin, but also actually moisturizes your tissues, so that your skin glows. Be careful about moisturizers that are 'too heavy' on the skin, because they may be uncomfortable to wear and look smudgy under make up. Choose intense moisturizing products that blend lightly but work hard.

\"face Lift\"

Ability to reduce pore size. Enlarged pores are another telltale sign of aging skin. The face-lift cream should solve this problem if it is effective. The cream must effectively unclog pores of oil and slightly peel off old skin, so that pores look smaller over time.

Face Lift Creams

Peeling and firming properties. The facelift cream should gently but effectively rid your face of old skin to give way to new, younger-looking skin. It should do so without making your skin too red or irritated. The face-lift cream must also tone your skin to reduce sagging and eliminate uneven corners around the mouth and eyes.

Cleansing properties. Your facelift cream should not only cosmetically enhance your skin - it should also effectively clean it. Your cream must work round-the-clock to block out dirt and other irritants, and give your skin a healthy and refreshed glow all day.

Lifestyle Lift Face Lift - What You Need to Know

What is a lifestyle lift face lift? Well, it is simply a mini-face lift procedure that is being advertised by its developers as a one-hour plastic surgery procedure that delivers dramatic positive results. But is it really all that it claims to be? Read on to find out.

The truth, according to cosmetic surgery experts, is that lifestyle lift face lift does not really provide an effective solution to the three major signs of aging: sagging skin in the jaw line, neckline and the jowls. And because these are the primary concerns that those who undergo face lifts seek to address, it is safe to assume that lifestyle lift is not the facial rejuvenation option that most patients are looking for. So if your concern has anything to do with the three signs of aging mentioned above then you may want to look elsewhere for the right solution.

\"face Lift\"

Another reason for you to look for other facial solutions other than lifestyle lift is the fact that the New York State Attorney General has actually fined the company for deceptive advertising. This decision arose from a complaint that lifestyle lift was posting fake customer reviews on their website. The Attorney General concluded that these reviews were meant to mislead consumers into believing that there are actually several satisfied customers raving about the procedure. Under state and federal laws, this kind of deception falls under fraudulent and illegal conduct and false advertising.

Lifestyle Lift Face Lift - What You Need to Know

This New York ruling is believed to be the first recorded case in the United States where the fight against astro-turfing is taken seriously. Astro-turfing is the term used to define the practice where employees of a particular company pose as customers or independent entities and proceed to praise their product on the internet or attack their detractors. As a result of the said ruling, several requests for comment were issued to lifestyle lift but they have yet to respond.

And when an independent body conducted their own customer satisfaction survey for lifestyle lift face lift customers, only 29% said that the procedure was worth the money that they paid for it. Here is another thing that you may want to take into account. Lifestyle lift is a proprietary procedure. This means that the company considers the procedure as their very own trade secret. While there may be nothing wrong with keeping a trade secret in order to protect your business, it remains a fact that the American Medical Association is very much against keeping any medical procedure a secret. The general contention is that there are no secrets in real scientific medicine.

Finally, the cost of lifestyle lift is significantly low as compared to other face lift procedures. If you believe in the saying that you get what you pay for then you really cannot expect much from something that does not cost that much, right? There may be some truth in that saying, if those who have tried lifestyle lift are to be believed. They complain that the results of the procedure last for less than a year, which is why they consider it a waste of their hard-earned money.

Get to Know the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Mini Face Lift

If you are looking for a change in your appearance, a makeover might not do. New makeup and hair styles can be great, but they often do not change enough features or last very long. If you want a new look but do not want to commit to major surgery, consider a mini face lift. First, get to know the pros and cons of this type of procedure.

Like traditional lifts, this type of surgery can make you look years younger. The reason this is called "mini" is mainly because the incisions are much smaller than in the regular procedure, so it takes much less healing time. Additionally, if you had your face lifted years ago, this could serve as a great touch-up. On the other hand, it could also be a starting point for future full lifts.

\"face Lift\"

If you want to eliminate the sagginess of the jaws and cheeks that often come with increased age, a mini face lift could be the best procedure for you. In fact, such lifts usually focus on the lower facial features, tightening the surrounding skin and adding some fullness to the area, as well.

Get to Know the Advantages and Disadvantages of the Mini Face Lift

It typically takes about two days to heal, which is why it is often referred to as a weekend procedure. The incisions are smaller in size and fewer in number than in the full surgery, and there are typically fewer complications.

Though shorter healing time is great for most people, it also means that the results are less noticeable. For this reason, it is often recommended for younger patients not yet in need of a full face lift. If you want dramatic results, you might have to get several of these surgeries. Also, this type is usually more expensive than the full procedure, due to the convenience of a fast healing time.

Like any other surgery, there are pros and cons to choosing this procedure over other similar types. The mini face lift is the best option for some patients, such as younger ones who just want a quick surgery to tighten lower facial features.

If you are looking for a dramatic change, you might consider regular lifts, which are often less expensive with better results. However, you would have to deal with a longer healing period. Although it is your choice in the end, speaking with a surgeon might help you make a decision regarding which surgery you decide on.
